Shoulder Pain Relief in Johnston

Shoulder pain can affect people of all ages and backgrounds, from athletes and manual workers to office professionals and parents lifting kids. What are the causes? They range from rotator cuff tears and impingement to joint subluxations and restricted mobility. Other common sources of discomfort include bicep tendinitis, bursitis, and fixations in the shoulder joint, all of which can restrict range of motion and lead to pain that may radiate down the arm.

What to Expect

When you visit Chiropractic Health & Wellness Clinic for shoulder pain relief, we’ll begin with a consultation to learn about your symptoms, health history, and any specific activities or movements that make your pain worse. This initial discussion helps Dr. Giddings understand potential causes, whether it’s a rotator cuff issue, impingement, or tendinitis.

Following the consultation, we’ll conduct a physical exam to assess range of motion, perform orthopedic checks, and pinpoint areas of restriction or discomfort. Depending on the findings, we may also suggest X-rays or advanced imaging, such as an MRI, to better understand the underlying cause.

Once diagnosed, we’ll work with you to create a customized care plan to promote healing and restore function in your shoulder.

Chiropractic Approaches to Shoulder Pain

Chiropractic care addresses the root cause of shoulder pain through adjustments that restore proper biomechanics. Techniques include gentle adjustments for realignment and therapies like muscle stimulation, cold laser, and ultrasound, all aimed at accelerating healing. Dr. Giddings may also perform some soft tissue work to address your shoulder pain.

To complement in-office treatment, our chiropractor often prescribes home exercises focused on stretching and strengthening to help maintain mobility.

How Long Does It Take to Feel Better?

Some people notice improvement on day one; if it’s a simple issue, sometimes it can take 30 days or so before you’re noticing some significant improvement. If we’re not noticing any significant improvement by 30 days, we’d want to get some additional imaging to take a closer look see if there’s something else we need to be doing.

Signs to Seek Chiropractic Care

If shoulder pain restricts your range of motion, causes weakness, or includes symptoms like tingling or numbness, it may be time to consider chiropractic care. Symptoms that do not resolve on their own indicate that professional care is needed to prevent further damage and restore shoulder function.
