Physiotherapy in Johnston
Here at the Chiropractic Health & Wellness Clinic, our goal is to get you out of pain as quickly as possible. In addition to chiropractic, we offer physiotherapy—from muscle stimulation and traction to cold laser therapy—to boost your adjustments and expedite relief.
Our physiotherapy spread allows Dr. Aaron Giddings to collaborate with each patient and design a custom physiotherapy “toolbox.” Once in practice, your chosen therapies will work together to help your body heal faster and maintain alignment longer.
Why Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy complements chiropractic care by accelerating and solidifying healing. While adjustments work to align the spine for a healthy nervous system, physiotherapy works to strengthen muscles, flexibility, and overall physical function.
Our Evidence-Based Approach
When we say “physiotherapy,” we mean the non-invasive adjunctive therapies we offer, including:
- Cold Laser Therapy: Low-level laser or cold laser therapy relies on red light to heal soft tissues. Known for fighting inflammation, revitalizing the cells, and preventing the buildup of scar tissue, it offers quick relief and lasting comfort.
- Therapeutic Ultrasound: Therapeutic ultrasound uses high-frequency, inaudible sound waves to address a variety of soft tissue injuries. These sound waves are directed into the problem area to increase blood flow, reduce swelling, and restore unhealthy cells.
- Hot Packs: Moist heat or hydrocollator packs dilate the blood vessels to increase blood flow to soft tissue injuries. They relax the muscles, promote comfort, and improve range of motion.
- Cold Packs: Cold packs do the opposite of hot packs. Rather than dilate the blood vessels, they constrict them to decrease inflammation and encourage comfort.
- Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS): EMS relies on strategically placed electrode pads to excite the muscles. This reduces inflammatory responses, quiets spasms, and lowers risk of atrophy.
- Intersegmental Traction: Intersegmental traction gently stretches and elongates the muscles supporting your spine. All you have to do is lie relaxed, face up on our table, and let the rollers beneath the surface remind your blood to flow and muscles to relax.
Sit Back, Relax, and Heal
